Remote hiring made trust-heavy, not trust-blind

With remote and hybrid interviews, it is easier than ever for proxy candidates, deepfakes, or lookalikes to slip into your hiring funnel. Manual ID checks are slow, inconsistent, and hard to audit at scale.

RippleHire’s AI Impersonation Check closes that gap. It combines a short video consent step with impersonation analysis, so you can be confident that:

  • The person who completes the interview is the same one who joins on day one.

The result is a verifiable, auditable trust layer across your interview and onboarding journeys.

AI-powered video consent and liveness verification, built into RippleHire

AI Impersonation Check is RippleHire’s integrated video verification workflow that confirms candidate identity and detects potential impersonation.

When a candidate is shortlisted or an interview is scheduled, they receive a unique link to record a short consent video. The system runs advanced liveness checks and generates an impersonation report that recruiters can access from the candidate’s Collaboration tab after each interview round and at the end of the hiring process. If a breach is detected, the system can automatically restrict further progress unless a specially authorised recruiter overrides it.

One-click video consent link sent automatically when interviews are scheduled
Web-based recording experience (desktop and mobile), no app install required
Guided on-screen script so candidates give clear consent and identify themselves
Minimum video length checks (e.g., 10 seconds) to avoid incomplete recordings.
AI liveness detection, iBeta Level 1 and Level 2 compliant, to flag spoofs and deepfakes.
Impersonation status tagged as Clear or Breach, visible inside RippleHire
Impersonation reports available after each interview round and at process completion
Manual reminders if a candidate does not complete video consent within a defined time window
Configurable controls that block interview scheduling or offers if checks are incomplete or breached
Special-permission override for authorised recruiters, fully logged in the Collaboration tab

Stronger controls without burdening recruiters or interviewers

AI Impersonation Check is designed to work quietly in the background so your teams can hire at speed without managing yet another tool. Recruiters schedule interviews as usual. RippleHire automatically sends the video consent link and tracks completion.

Once the candidate records their consent video, the system runs liveness and impersonation analysis and surfaces the result where your team actually works: in the candidate’s profile and Collaboration tab. Interviewers can also capture a screenshot during the interview and upload it for comparison, giving your teams an additional layer of assurance before making offers.

Automatic trigger of video consent request when interviews are scheduled

Manual “Send IPV reminder” option for recruiters when needed.

Video recordings are stored securely in the candidate profile for audit and review.

Impersonation results and override notes shared with stakeholders via the Collaboration tab

Offer and interview actions automatically restricted for breach-marked candidates unless an authorised override is recorded

FAQs

1. What is AI Impersonation Check in RippleHire?

AI Impersonation Check is a video-based verification feature that uses liveness detection and AI analysis to confirm that the person appearing in interviews and onboarding is the genuine candidate. It combines a short consent video with automated analysis and generates impersonation reports after each interview round and at the end of the hiring process.

2. How does the video consent process work for candidates?

When a candidate is shortlisted or an interview is scheduled, RippleHire sends them an email with a unique link. The link opens a web page where they read a short consent script and record a video. They can preview, re-record, and then submit. If they open the link again after submission, they see a confirmation message instead of being asked to record again.

3. What is checked in the video and how is liveness ensured?

The system checks that the recording meets basic criteria such as minimum duration and then runs an AI-powered liveness check that is iBeta Level 1 and Level 2 certified. This helps distinguish live human activity from spoofed content such as static photos, replayed videos, or masks.

4. What happens if a candidate does not complete the video consent step?

If a candidate does not complete their video consent, RippleHire can send an automatic reminder after a set period. Recruiters also see the pending status and, depending on your configuration, may be blocked from scheduling interviews or moving the candidate forward until the check is completed.

5. What does “Breach” mean in the impersonation report?

“Breach” indicates that the system has detected a potential impersonation risk or that the candidate has failed the required checks. In this case, their status is clearly marked in the Collaboration tab, and standard recruiters may be blocked from scheduling further interviews or making offers. Only recruiters with special permissions can override this, and their override is logged for audit.

6. Can authorised users override a failed impersonation check?

Yes. Organisations can grant special permissions to certain recruiters or HR users who can manually override a breach status in exceptional cases. When they do, the override is captured in the Collaboration tab along with the impersonation report so there is full visibility into the decision.

7. Where can recruiters and interviewers see the impersonation results?

All video consent entries and impersonation results are visible in the candidate’s Collaboration tab and details section. Recruiters can filter to view only verified candidates, access the underlying video, and download individual impersonation reports as needed. Interviewers can also upload interview screenshots to support the checks.

8. Is the feature mobile-friendly for candidates?

Yes. Candidates can complete the consent recording from both desktop and mobile. The interface guides them through permissions, recording, and submission, and confirms once their video has been successfully uploaded.

9. Does AI Impersonation Check replace all manual ID verification?

It significantly reduces the need for manual and ad-hoc checks, especially in remote interviews. Many organisations still choose to keep some form of document verification for compliance or client requirements, but AI Impersonation.
