RippleHire vs a job-board-owned ATS · Updated October 2026
Their advantage is sourcing. Ours is a recruiting harness for everything after it. Agents coordinate. Recruiters close.
Some of the most competitively priced ATSs on your shortlist are owned by the job boards you buy from, and that gives them a clear advantage: native resume-database access inside the workflow. Sourcing, though, is one part of hiring economics. RippleHire competes on the rest of it: diversifying your sources, referrals, offer-to-join, candidate integrity and multi-country workflows. Tracking alone is history. RippleHire is a recruiting harness: specialised agents for each of those jobs, connected with your recruiters in Agent Builder and running different rules in each country. Agents coordinate the work after sourcing. Recruiters close it. Those stages decide your cost per joined hire.
Where the cost of a hire sits
Three things the licence price does not include
We sometimes lose evaluations to cheaper tools, and we understand why. These three costs usually stay out of the finance case. Put them in front of your CFO as well as your TA team.
3 months
The weeks between offer acceptance and Day 1 are when candidates serve notice, field counter-offers and go quiet, and each no-show costs several times a successful hire. An offer letter alone does not stop that. That loss never appears in the licence comparison.
Moving referrals from a fifth to a third of your hires is one of the largest cost levers in enterprise TA, because every referral hire is a hire you did not pay a board or an agency for. Getting employees to refer is a behaviour change, and gamification, rewards and automatic payouts drive it.
Dependence on one paid sourcing channel adds cost every year. Ask whether the platform is built mainly to fill the funnel, or to lower your total cost per joined hire.
Where each platform puts its depth
Their engineering is good and their sourcing advantage is earned.
A deep sourcing ecosystem
Native resume-database search inside the workflow, profile import straight into your pipeline, and one-click posting across the major boards. If your strategy is to build on one job board, that is a clear advantage for them.
In a demo, test how much depth sits beyond sourcing: referral participation mechanics, agency throttling, post-acceptance intervention, and channel analytics that will tell you a source is not worth renewing.
A platform that diversifies your sources
We help you diversify your sources and build your own candidate database, so no single paid channel decides your pipeline. That is why we built the referral engine first and why gamification sits at the centre of it. Two example agents: one that publishes every new job to your career site, employee referrals and internal job posting as soon as it opens, and one that shortlists strong career-site applicants before anyone pays a board for the same profile.
Naukri candidate data flows into RippleHire, and so does LinkedIn RSC data on the premium tier. We partner with other job boards to widen your pool, and we also give you vendor tiers, throttling, source-credit tracking and referral analytics that show when a channel is not worth renewing.
One question for every vendor
Ask every vendor on your shortlist the same question: "In the last two years, what have you shipped that reduces what we spend on job boards?" The answer shows whether their roadmap focuses on sourcing or on reducing what you spend after it.
What the price difference pays for: a recruiting harness.
A cheaper licence is a fair reason to shortlist a vendor. Most of what the price difference pays for is work your team would otherwise do by hand. The biggest item is the recruiting harness. Agent Builder, its business-friendly face, stitches specialised agents and your recruiters into any workflow, based on region, internal requirements and constraints. Your TA ops team creates the agents your process needs, with no code and no vendor ticket, and sets each one's trigger, autonomy and rules per country. Your team can build agents that reduce your job board spend.
- Agent Builder, so your TA ops team creates, scopes and governs the agents your process needs
- Agents coordinate, recruiters close: agents run the systematic work after sourcing, recruiters make the decisions
- Set the rules once per geography: an Australia agent and a Germany agent play by different rules, with an audit trail per decision, and each region can run in Assisted, Semi-autonomous or Autonomous mode
- An AI voice agent handles pre-screen calls, and Amy runs Level-1 interviews and returns scored reports
- Offer validation, approval chasing and pre-join agents past the offer letter
- Shield: fake resumes, identity mismatches, duplicate applications and agency double-submissions
- SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified, GDPR and DPDP Act 2023 aligned, across 50+ countries
- Region-specific data storage across India, the EU and the US, with comms in 10+ languages
- RHConnect: native no-code bi-directional Workday and HRIS sync
- Scheduling, notes, offers and e-signature unified, with background checks triggered at offer stage
- Vendor tiers, submission throttling and source-credit tracking to control agency volume
- A configurable platform: your structures, fields and workflows, with heavy customisation handled during implementation
Read: ATS is dead. Harness is what you need for the next decade.
Eleven requirements, side by side
We rate them ahead of us on the first row. Both products are strong on the next two. Each of the rest can be checked in a demo. Where it says “not published, ask for a demo”, we found no published capability, so ask the vendor to show it.

What a job-board-owned ATS does well
We rate them ahead of us on native job board access.
Native job board access, and a price that is hard to argue with
Searching a major resume database from inside your ATS workflow, with profiles importing straight into your pipeline, is a clear advantage if your strategy is to build on one job board. If most of your hiring is in the markets where their parent board is strongest and sourcing volume is your main constraint, that integration matters, and we will say so. Their parent is a large, established business.
On price they are usually well below us. A lower licence is an advantage.
Our answer is to compare the total cost of a joined hire. If a cheaper tool leaves your accepted offers unmanaged, your referral share flat and your board spend where it is, the saving is smaller than it looks. Compare licence cost alongside cost per joined hire.
Three questions to ask before you sign
Start with the first one.
In the last two years, what have you shipped that reduces our job board spend?
Referral gamification, vendor throttling and channel-efficiency analytics all reduce sourcing spend. Deeper board integration fills the funnel faster, and the board bill stays the same. The answer shows where the product focuses.
What runs between offer accepted and Day 1?
Each no-show costs several times a successful hire. Ask what detects a counter-offer before the candidate fails to appear, and which agent acts on it.
How would we take referrals from a fifth of hires to a third?
Ask to see the leaderboards, the payout tracking and the source-credit logic. Those mechanics are what get employees referring.
Chosen over cheaper tools
LTIMindtree, Mphasis, Birlasoft, Bahwan Cybertek and 50+ enterprises run RippleHire, making tens of thousands of hires a year across global markets. Compare cost per joined hire as well as licence cost.
Ask us for references at your hiring volume, and ask every vendor on your shortlist for the same.
Give us 45 minutes and your cost per joined hire.
Bring your licence quotes, your job board spend, your referral share and your offer-to-join rate. We will do the arithmetic in front of you, and if the cheaper tool wins on total cost we will tell you.
